My Cat Had Five Kittens

Last week I had a beautiful experience. My Siamese cat had five kittens at home and I helped them to born. The cat was wonderful, cleared the kittens, ate the placenta and she gave them stimulus to breathe, licking them. After that, the kittens began to suckle with my help. The cats born with close eyes and only open after five or six days. Now the kittens are healthy and grow up each day. They are white with the tip of the ears and tail the color gray.

Car Insurance

An automobile insurance is something to protect you against losses in the event of an accident, theft, vandalism, or some other incident that involves your vehicle. It is a contract between you and your insurance company. You pay a price (called premium) for the company and it has the risk of cover your loss, during a certain period of time. In many countries, including Canada, Brazil, the U.S., there are laws for that your vehicle have to be insured. If you are found driving without valid insurance, you can have your driver's licence suspended and your vehicle impounded. Something that strikes me in Canada, however, is the price of the insurance premium. It is absurd how this value is high, especially when you're a newcomer. The companies here do not recognize your history as a good driver in other countries and information from other insurers with which you had insurance before. I have, for example, done insurance for over 25 years and never had an accident in my life. I never used the money of the insurance companies. In my home country, the price of insurance premium for a car equivalent to one I have here in Canada is 1/4 the price I paid here. This year, my family is paying about $ 5,000 in insurance, which is unfair because my husband and I are good drivers, parents of young children and use our car for transport over short distances, respecting the law and without never having received even a ticket.

The Campaign for Hope

Early this months my family and I went to the High Park, downtown. There was a 5 km run for the participants of the group called Seneca Hill Elite, which occurs in my children's school. The two older children that I have, invited their father, my husband, to run in the race with them. The race  happened especially to raise money to buy mosquito nets for Africa. The park is very beautiful, making access to this large pond, which contained many geese and several ducks.

The Bluffers Park Toronto

My family and I went to the Bluffers Park last weekend. The Park is very nice and the weather helped us, because it was a great sunny day. Lake Ontario was totally different from the video posted on the blog by Joseph, when there were so many waves in the lake. This time the Lake Ontario was placid. We were playing at the beach during the morning and we saw many boats and jet skis. Also, we saw the storm water treatment made by Ontario's government.

Picasso at the AGO

Last month my family and I went to the AGO. We saw the interesting exhibition of a famous artist named Picasso. Picasso was born in Spain in 1881. Personal photos, paintings and sculptures are very beautiful but, the difficult interpretation. There, we met the family's friends of my son. After that we also saw an exhibition of miniature ships, including one of Brazil. There was an area for children, too.
At last, the family's friends and us went to the Arabic restaurant in downtown. It was nice place, and had good food and pleasant people. It was great day and we liked it very much.

Field Trip to St. Lawrence and St. James

Yesterday I had a good time with the teacher Joseph, and 8 classmates, when I went to the St. Lawrence Market and the Cathedral St James. In St. Lawrence Market we saw a presentation about the history of Toronto. John Graves founded the Town of York in 1793, where there lived only 200 people. Lake Ontario was very near and it was possible to fish there. In 1812, the population was 800. In 1834, the name changed to Toronto and it became a city, and had a population of over than 9000. The first City Hall of Toronto was built in 1845, and now has been transformed into St. Lawrence Market. The host was talking about the War of 1812 too. It was interesting. After that we had lunch and a small tour around the place. In the afternoon, we saw same places and talked about Downtown. In front of the Cathedral St James there is the St James Park, where the many people stay there camped in their tents in protest last year. Now the park has many flowers and a nice garden. The Cathedral is very beautiful and has lots of painted glass about the history. There is a big organ there, and we had the pleasure to listen a very beautiful concert. Thank you, Joseph, for this.
